Abstract

This article submits that the area of action of the sanitary politics of the General Francisco
Menendez’s (1885-1890) government, there centered in the world coffee grower of the
Salvadorian west. He was not preparing of the chattels and doctors to carry out a campaign
of vaccination on a national scale. The principal disease of the country was related to the
fevers of all kinds and the malaria due to the bad hygienic conditions and to small education
concerning the eradication of the stagnant waters. On the other hand, the exiguous
popular literacy influenced in little identification of the Salvadorian, with the practice of
the physical exercise.
