Abstract
This article proposes a typology of electors based on survey data developed after the
1998 national election. Using cluster analysis it was possible to identify eight different
groups. The first four were discriminated by individuals’ electoral behavior, while the
other four respond to differences in attitudes toward politics. A further analysis shows
important differences at the demographic and psychosocial level.
