Resumen
El género Xyrichtys es muy variable en morfología y coloración, y la forma de la cabeza es inadecuada para ciertas identificaciones. Se revisa el género, estimándose que tiene seis especies en el Pacífico Oriental Tropical y se describe, Xyrichtysmundiceps. Dudamos de la validez de Xyrichtys perlas, que podría ser una fase temprana de X. mundiceps.Citas
