Resumen
Se describen las variaciones espaciales y estacionales en la composición y abundancia ictioplánctica en dos sistemas lagunares de la Reserva de la Biosfera de Sian Ka'an. Estos sistemas presentan una alta heterogeneidad de los parámetros físicos debido a la influencia de aguas marinas, dulces y subterráneas. Los datos biológicos fueron obtenidos de muestreos superficiales realizados mediante redes de arrastre de 200 y 500 m en cuatro períodos climáticos, desde octubre de 1996 hasta agosto de 1997. Los parámetros físicos se obtuvieron con un salinómetro-conductímetro. Se identificaron un total de 40 taxa ictiopláncticos, entre los que figuran 25 géneros y 21 especies. Las familias mejor representadas, en términos de las frecuencias de aparición y/o las abundancias individuales fueron Gobiidae, Hemirhamphidae, Atherinidae, Clupeidae y Engraulidae. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que las variaciones en la salinidad determinan la presencia de algunas especies en los sistemas estudiados.Citas
