Abstract
Descriptions, iIlustrations, and taxonomic notes are provided for seven species of Polysiphonia occurring on the tropical Mexican Pacific coast. Two of the species, P. nathanielii and P. subtilissima, are newly reported for the area. Thallus heigh, branch diameter and number of pericentral cells are among the reliable taxonomic characters. No endemic species were found. They occurr in a variety of habitats, from exposed, high energy, turbid water condition to the opposite set of characteristics.Comments
