Resumen

Este artículo tiene como objetivo analizar la política exterior de China como potencia media en ascenso a global y su cobertura diplomática al exterior. En la primera parte se explica porqué China aún no es una “gran potencia global”. En la segunda se delinea el espacio exterior que abarca la diplomacia china de una manera general. En la tercera sección señalará el marco institucional en el cual se toman las decisiones de la política exterior de China. El análisis de China como potencia media en ascenso a global será útil para clarificar si el marco institucional de su política exterior permite o no jugar un papel de relevancia en la arena internacional. De este modo, se podrán conocer los alcances y los límites de la actuación de China en el escenario internacional.
