Abstract

This article aims to analyze the strategies developed by the Administrative Management of the Colegio Indígena de Ujarrás to attend the needs of the Educational Community. Therefore, the concepts of education, educational management, and administrative management were taken into account. The qualitative method with the descriptive design was used. The subjects of information were made up of administrative and teaching staff, students, and community leaders related to the Colegio Indígena de Ujarrás. The investigation was based on two categories of analysis: the Administrative Management strategies and the needs of the educational community.

The analysis was divided into three segments: Indigenous Community of Ujarrás, Aspects of the Education Center and Educational Center-Community Relationship. Based on these segments, the results show the need of a transformation in the administrative management of the educational center, which considers the worldview and culture of the indigenous population, the promotion of the ancestral culture of the community, the strengthening of a strategic leadership by the director of the educational center, as well as the strengthening of interpersonal relationships.

In conclusion, the researchers consider that there is a need to include the indigenous worldview in the school curriculum of the educational center, in addition to incorporating actions to improve personal relationships between the educational community and to motivate the teaching staff.
