Resumen

El objetivo principal de este artículo es la revisión de los desórdenes temporomandibulares más comunes de acuerdo al criterio diagnóstico para desórdenes temporomandibulares (DC/TMD) haciendo énfasis en el criterio diagnóstico para cefalea asociada a TMD, por medio de un caso clínico que ilustra las características clásicas del paciente con dolor miofascial masticatorio, artralgia de la articulación temporomandibular y cefalea asociada a DTM.  Se presenta un caso de una paciente femenina de 34 años, junto con el proceso diagnóstico y su abordaje; el cual fue mediante autocuidado, modificación de hábitos y conductas nocivas, terapia física y apoyo farmacológico.
