Abstract

This play remains valid because of its emphasis on the greatest literary and existential topics: life and its meaning. Casona proposes ironically a song to life by leading this one to the limit of its own auto-annulment: the suicide. In the view of this sensitive and mysterious reality, the human being should prove to be responsible and free. This play intends to accept that even if evil exists, it is worth to opt for life and human dignity.
