Del "Polo" a "Lo Polo": insinuaciones pragmáticas

Abstract

This essay discusses the trends of identity creation, exclusion and otherness in the use of the word polo in Costa Rica. The study uses pragmatics to give a theoretical overview of the lexicon and then moves into a cultural studies approach for the topic.
