Abstract

This article presents a profile of Dr. Adolfo Constenla Umaña that emphasizes his work in the fields of teaching, research, and social action. Furthermore, the article underscores his contributions to the field of linguistics, as he was a pioneer in the study of a number of areas, especially concerning indigenous languages about which he did a great deal of important research.
