Resumen

El presente artículo realiza un ejercicio conceptual, utilizando casos previamente documentados, para el noroeste de Costa Rica y el Pacífico de Nicaragua, con el fin de presentar un modelo interpretativo de cómo pudo haberse dado el proceso migratorio de los chorotega-mangue. Éste ha sido un tema recurrente en la arqueología de la región, desde los años cincuenta.
