Resumen

En el presente estudio identificamos y describimos restos fósiles de tiburones y rayas de la Formación Tonosí, del Eoceno de Panamá. Este trabajo incluye el primer reporte de Odontaspis sp. y †Cretolamna appendiculata para el país, y
registros adicionales de Carcharnifomes y Aetobatus sp. Éstos hallazgos epresentan el reporte de condrictios más antiguo de Panamá, aportando así al conocimiento de la fauna marina que existió en la región antes del surgimiento del Istmo de Panamá.
