Abstract

El propósito del presente artículo es describir el diagnóstico y el tratamiento bucodental inicial de un paciente adulto mayor, quien será rehabilitado posteriormente, con una prótesis total inferior soportada por implantes. Al efectuar un tratamiento bucodental, siempre debemos pensar en la mejor manera de devolverle al paciente la función y la estética, para mejorar su condición social y psicológica. Esto es de vital importancia en aquellos adultos mayores, cuyas piezas remanentes ya no son funcionales ni estéticamente aceptables para una correcta reconstrucción protésica.
